About Us

History

Chino Hills Counseling was opened in 2004 by Lori Lira a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Play Therapist. Prior to that, Lori had worked for 9 years at another Christian Counseling Center doing therapy from various Church sites. She found that some clients didn’t feel comfortable doing therapy from their church because they wanted more anonymity. She also felt that she couldn’t create as comfortable of an ambiance or provide the play equipment needed for children in the church setting. This is why she decided to open a professional office close to home in the beautiful Chino Hills area. Recently, the office has moved from the Chino Hills Professional Plaza, to the Spectrum Business Center, this allows the office location to be central to both the cities of Chino and Chino Hills as it is right of the 71 freeway.

Statement of Faith

We Believe

in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally co-existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Heb. 1:1-3; Matt.3:16-17, 28:18-19; John 15:26; II Cor.13:14) .

We Believe

the scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind, and the divine and final authority for all faith and life. (II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:19-21; Eph. 1:13; Deut. 8:3; Psa.119; Is. 40:8; Acts 20:32)

We Believe

in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father. (Isa 7:14; Isa 53; Rom. 1:3-4, 3:23-26, 5:6-21, 8:1-3, 34; Eph. 1:20, 4:7-10; Col. 2:9; 1 Tim. 2:5)

We Believe

the Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration and renewal for believers in Jesus Christ and that He makes the presence of Jesus Christ real in believers and enables them to live in a manner that honors God. (Titus 3:4-7; John 7:37-39, 14;16-18; Eph. 3:16-19; Rom. 8:11-16)

We Believe

that the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and His physical resurrection provide the only ground for justification, forgiveness, and salvation for all who believe, and only those who trust in Him alone are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become Children of God. (Rom. 3:21-31; I Cor.15:1-7; II Cor.5:21; John 1:12-13; Gal. 2:16)

We Believe

in the blessed hope - The return of Christ to Earth. (Luke 21:27; acts 1:11; Heb. 9:28)

We Believe

in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are not unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

We Believe

in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28).

We Believe

in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30; 5:18).

We Believe

it is the mandate of the whole church to go into the whole world and to preach the Gospel to every living creature. (Mark 16:15, Matthew 28: 19-20)

We Believe

that we as Christians are examples of the love of God in the world. It is this (agape) love that we desire to possess and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians. (I John 4:16-17)

We Believe

the individual is multidimensional and, as such, should be treated physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually in order to achieve personal and interpersonal wholeness. (Tim. 5:23; Phil. 2:1-4; Rom 12:2, 9-16; Gal. 6:2,5; Ps. 27:3-5; Jam. 1:5)
